Top Food, Shopping and Experiences in the Lehigh Valley This Week
1. Date Night with a Sloth
You definitely don’t hear this every day, and that’s precisely why we’re sharing it with you. The Lehigh Valley Zoo is hosting date nights with their resident sloth, Bean, on three Wednesdays this month starting on March 17. Tickets are priced at $300 per couple, which includes dinner and beverages for two as well as a meet and mingle with Bean. There are only six tables available each Wednesday, so space is extremely limited. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and you get to hang with Bean and his handlers from 5:40 until 6:10 p.m., which is followed by your dinner for two until 7 p.m. We know there’s a lot of sloth lovers out there, so we suggest snatching up this unique experience while you can. Head over to their website to book your spot and check out what’s on the menu for dinner.

2. Creative Tile Pop-Ups
We love to see businesses think outside of the box when it comes to partnerships and events and Creative Tile Imports always seems to be finding new and unique ways to do just that. They’ve recently announced a series of pop-up events at their showroom in Allentown to celebrate spring for four upcoming weekends. Beginning March 20 and continuing until April 10, each Saturday will offer a different shop, maker or food truck, starting with Forkeeps Flowers on Saturday March 20, continuing with Cottage and Bloom on March 27, then The Sticky Pig on April 3 and Steel City Plant Co. on April 10. You can head over to their website to learn a little bit more about each featured pop-up. There’s no better time to celebrate spring and support local!
3. The Game Gallery
While exploring Downtown Easton for the thousandth time, we literally stumbled upon The Game Gallery, which totally felt like stepping into a time machine to our youth. You’re immediately hit with a wave of nostalgia walking through the doors as you’re greeted with shelves upon shelves of old gaming systems, video games, action figures and so much more we couldn’t even begin to name them all. That’s not even the best part, though. While you’re walking through totally mesmerized by shelves of the items of simpler times, you learn that there is an entire arcade of games housed in the back of the gallery. We’re talking all of those games you loved to grab quarters for and play as a kid, the “racing games,” Ms. Packman and even DDR make an appearance. We highly recommend you stop in next time you’re downtown (they’re steps away from the Public Market and Terra Café), you’ll love to remember your childhood while making new memories at this super fun spot!
4. Church Home for Sale
It’s rare that we get to see really unique and custom homes for sale in and around the Valley, so we’re jumping on this chance to tell you about a renovated church turned home for sale in Bangor. Amy Bloom of Spun Design staged this space into a super fun open-air living concept while still appreciating all the building had to offer as a former church. The home is painted a cheery purple and even incorporates old pews into its footprint. Check out the listing for yourself and maybe even schedule a tour, if you’re interested!
5. Brick Easton
Another totally unexpected find is that of Brick Easton. According to their Facebook, Brick Easton features LEGO models of different sights around Easton created by Jeremy Joseph of Big Easy Easton Brass. When you scroll through these photos, you’re completely amazed at the attention to detail that Jeremy put in to each creation, replicating exactly what you’ll find should you visit one of these locations downtown. For instance, he created the Bank Street Creamery where you’ll see the bright purple doors and patrons eating outside as well as a full menu board inside the creamery. We highly recommend following his creations, it’s remarkable what you can do with a set of LEGOs!
