A little bit pick-me-up and a little bit kick-back-and-relax, the best espresso martinis are both smooth and stimulating. The sight of one of these nut-brown beauties across the bar often inspires copycat orders as we realize it’s going to hit the spot.
1. Grille 3501 - Espresso Martini
Striking the balance between casual and sophisticated, Grille 3501 is an Allentown favorite perfecting both classic and creative cocktails, with an eclectic fusion menu that will have you returning to try something new. Their espresso martini is an even mix of vanilla vodka, Kahlua, Baileys and chilled espresso.
2. The Shelby - Rise Up Martini
The Park at The Shelby extends this consummate brunch spot with a massive indoor-outdoor space, while its suspender-clad bartenders continue to sling a crowd-pleasing drink menu. The Rise Up Martini mixes cold brew coffee with Pittsburgh-based Maggie’s Farm Coffee Liqueur, Tito’s vodka and vanilla gomme syrup for a sip with zip.
3. 3rd & Ferry - Lipkin’s Espresso-tini
Known for their fabulous seafood, Easton’s 3rd & Ferry Fish Market also boasts an inspiring bar with lots to explore. Their take on the espresso martini, Lipkin’s Espresso-tini, gives the coffee classic a smooth, nutty twist by mixing espresso liqueur with both a vanilla vodka and a hazelnut espresso-infused vodka.
4. The Bookstore Speakeasy - Dulce & Gabbana
Venture out to the fringes of what can be considered an espresso martini with a creation from Bethlehem’s The Bookstore Speakeasy. Served in a dimly lit cavern of early jazz, the Dulce & Gabbana is a rich concoction consisting of Bacardi Superior, Diplomatico, sea salt dulce de leche chocolate mousse, sunflower butter, sherry cream, egg white meringue and cold brew espresso.
5. Union & Finch - Cold Brew Martini
A decadent duo well known to mocha lovers, chocolate and coffee enhance each other’s complex flavors. At Allentown’s Union & Finch, a cozy spot for scrumptious brunch (mimosa flights, anyone?) and mouthwatering entrées, the Cold Brew Martini is made with Kahlua, chocolatey Godiva liqueur and strong cold-brew coffee.
