Top Experiences in the Lehigh Valley This Week
1. Penn Picnics
The pandemic has seemingly fueled the rebirth of the picnic—and not just any kind of picnic but picnics with tablecloths, fine china, candelabras, florals and gourmet fare. With luxury picnic providers popping up across the country, the Lehigh Valley now has a gourmet picnic planner in our midst: Penn Picnics. Based out of Nazareth, Penn Picnics offers four luxury packages based on group size and overall theme. You can book a picnic for groups of 2–10 people for occasions ranging from an intimate date night to a bridal shower, birthday party, engagement party and more. Penn Picnics supplies all of the décor, signage, set-up and clean-up as well as assistance with food and dessert choices. Fully customized picnics are also available upon request—you can check out the packages and inquire here.
2. Pie Social at Pie Bird Farm
This 1860’s farmstead in Bucks County is hosting its first-ever event this Sunday, November 7 from noon to 3 p.m. to celebrate their grand opening and the official start of pie season. Located in Ottsville, Sunday’s event will feature a ribbon cutting and tree planting, homemade pies for purchase, local goodies and apples for sale, hot apple cider, a barn sale and the opportunity to place Thanksgiving pie pre-orders. Pie Bird Farm typically isn’t open to the public, so take advantage of this one-time event and spend some time enjoying some fresh air and delicious made-from-scratch pie.
3. Tranquility Wing at Skinterest Skincare Boutique
Skinterest Skincare Boutique recently upgraded their space in Easton’s Silk Mill to offer the ultimate spa experience. Their new space features an expanded waiting area and retail area as well as larger space for their variety of waxing, skin and body services with a group event space coming soon. They’ve also introduced a brand-new Tranquility Wing that’s available for clients to unwind before their service. Clients are encouraged to arrive 10–15 minutes early so they can change into a robe and slippers, enjoy fresh fruit and experience the benefits of the Himalayan salt wall. Find their listing of services and monthly specials here.
4. Afro Beatz & Reggae Nights
We often find ourselves wishing there were vibey lounge options to enjoy nightlife in the Lehigh Valley and low and behold it seems as if our wishes have been granted as we stumbled upon Coal Bethlehem’s Afro Beats and Reggae Nights. Recently rebranding as Coal Winery & Kitchen, you’ll find a nice wine list, chef’s signature cocktails, an updated menu featuring Ghanaian cuisine and this brand-new after dinner experience. Starting this Saturday night, from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m., you can enjoy signature cocktails and house-made wine in a chill atmosphere. There isn’t a cover charge but reservations are required by text.
5. Vegan Cookbook from Jenny's Kuali
Jenny’s Kuali is kind of a Lehigh Valley cult favorite in SouthSide Bethlehem. Offering Malaysian and vegetarian cuisine with a specialty focus on noodles and dumplings, Jenny’s prides itself on the freshest dishes with a modern flair. You can dine in at their restaurant, grab takeout or try your hand at making their famous dishes at home with their vegan cookbook. With the second edition launching just this week, you’ll find updated and new recipes for appetizers, entrées, soups and dessert. You can purchase the second edition for $16.99 at the restaurant in Bethlehem.
