A mead with this much flavor doesn’t need a fancy name. It gets straight to the point: Black. And with over 100 pounds of Berks County blackberries packed into it, the name is certainly fitting. Black recently made its commercial debut on—you guessed it—Black Friday, and cofounders Greg Heller-LaBelle and Mike Manning could not be more pleased with their creation.
Heller-LaBelle says it best, describing the drink as a “rich, robust blackberry-black currant mead that bursts with dark, juicy flavor.” The drink is loaded with tannins (from the skin of the fruit), which dries it out, giving the mead a flavor that the cofounders say red wine drinkers will definitely recognize.
Black is a limited-release, so make sure you don’t miss your chance to pour and sip this fruit-filled blend.
