Had you always dreamed of being a pastry chef? Tell us about your decision to open Cake & Corolla.
Since I was little, I enjoyed watching the Food Network and knew I wanted to become a pastry chef one day. I have worked in the baking and pastry industry since I was 16 years old. I’ve worked in bakeries and restaurants from Pennsylvania to Virginia. Being as I have worked in multiple bakeries in the past, it gave me the drive to pursue my own goals and create a name for myself that would get noticed. I have always wanted to open my own bakery, but was never sure when the right time would be.
How would you describe the overall vibe at Cake & Corolla?
Cake & Corolla is a rustic, modern spot where you can meet up with friends, plug in your laptop and do work, or simply enjoy cake and coffee. At Cake & Corolla, we are all for positive vibes and self-expression.

Tell us about the range of baked goods offered.
We offer a variety of baked goods, ranging from cakes and cheesecakes to cookies, brownies, cannolis, doughnuts, etc. Everything we offer in the store can be custom ordered.
How custom can the creations get? Is the sky the limit here?
The limit is up to the customers and what suits their personal orders. We can get very creative with custom orders, and we enjoy that each and every order is personal to the recipient. Custom orders are not just an order, but memories, milestones, weddings and simply the celebrations of life!
Speaking of the celebrations of life, tell us about your wedding and special occasion offerings!
Wedding and special occasion orders typically start with a cake tasting in our private room with a pastry chef. The pastry chef can help answer any questions the customer may have as far as flavors of cakes, specific details and decoration of their order.

Tell us about the decision to include a flower shop in the bakery—and the name!
[It] was a no brainer for many reasons. If you think of all the functions that you attend, 99 percent of the time there is food and flowers. Also, growing up in the Lehigh Valley area, there are bakeries everywhere. I knew that my bakery had to stand out—be different and unique. This is where the Corolla part of Cake & Corolla comes from. The definition of corolla is the petals of a flower, typically forming a whorl within the sepals and enclosing the reproductive organs.
Describe the floral offerings available.
In our flower display case, we offer an array of grab-and-go bouquets and table arrangements, and we offer the customer the ability to arrange their own personal bouquet right in store if they like. Not only can they customize their bouquet with the flowers of their choice, but also with a choice of ribbons and cards to finish off their personal creation.
