2021 Hair Trends to Follow
When thinking of hair trends that are worth following for 2021, there are several styles at the top of my list. Vintage-inspired haircuts have been making a comeback of a lifetime. The 70s and 90s are back to life all throughout the media. These haircuts can come in a variety of forms. For example, “The Shag” is a trending haircut. It is often paired with the curtain bang, which is in high demand for 2021. The shag haircut can be done in multiple different ways. Typically, these types of styles have lots of movement, provide lots of volume and take your look to the next level. If the dramatic layers of “The Shag” are a little too daring for you, the curtain bang is a perfect addition to your look. Curtain bangs have become a statement piece. Brigette Bardot rocked this style for nearly the entirety of her career. This style is typically worn with a center part. The pieces frame the face beautifully, enhancing natural cheekbones. This style is all the rave for 2021.
When it comes to color, a popular technique is color blocking. Color blocking happens when you use two or more quadrants of sectioning with various color choices. This can render bold and dramatic finishes. Depending on the color palette of choice, the results may be high-fashion or soft and subtle.
Some personal favorite, high-fashion accessories that are trending for 2021 are claw clips, statement headbands and oversized accessories. Some of these include large, patterned barrettes, oversized scrunchies and hair ribbons. Each of these unique accessory choices are a part of the 90s genre, as well, and can be worn with multiple styles, ultimately highlighting fashion choices.
